At Aris Mining, our social investment framework is based on four pillars:

  • Infrastructure for Development
  • Education for Development
  • Biodiversity and Water for the Future
  • Health, Well-being and Protection of Culture

In 2022 we delivered a series of activities aimed at strengthening our communities in the areas of operation.

Infrastructure for Development

We work to improve the quality of life in the communities in which we operate through the improvement of roads and the modernization and strengthening of infrastructure. These initiatives stimulate economic growth and reduce poverty in our local populations. In the municipalities of Segovia-Remedios and Marmato, we have impacted more than 100,000 inhabitants.

Education for Development

One of the pillars of greatest impact in our community investment programs is social investment in education. Our investments in education have included improvements to 15 educational institutions in the municipalities of Segovia and Remedios and benefited more than 6,500 people, including students and teachers.

In collaboration with the Angelitos de Luz Foundation, which has been a fundamental partner throughout the organization, design and execution of the Education for Development programs, more than 4,500 scholarships have been awarded at the Gimnasio La Salada Educational Institution since 2012, with the aim of continuing to strengthen our scholarship program in the coming years.

Additionally, we introduced the Football for Peace program in partnership with the Fútbol con Corazón Foundation with the participation of more than 1,200 children from La Salada Gymnasium, who, through sports, are educated in socio-emotional values and skills.

In partnership with Red Papaz, we also developed the parents' school program, which promotes the protection of children's rights in the country. This program was implemented in 10 educational institutions in the municipalities of Segovia and Remedios.

Biodiversity and Water for the Future

Clean water and land access are among the most important pillars of our relationships with local communities. We design strategies and promote sustainable practices around this main pillar.

For the protection of local flora and fauna, we have built ecological corridors called green tunnels, which allow safe passage and provide shelter for more than 60 species of birds, reptiles, and mammals.

Health, Well-being and Protection of Culture

We promote recreation in local communities and enhance culture through activities that exalt local knowledge and beliefs. Working collaboratively with governmental and non-governmental organizations, we promote education, sports and community values with the aim of generating well-being in the population.
