Our Commitment to Communities and People

At Aris Mining, we're always looking to advance human, social, and economic development initiatives designed to benefit people, communities, and local businesses, while delivering meaningful and lasting value to its stakeholders.

We're committed to fostering local employment opportunities, equality, diversity, inclusion, and respect for human rights. The health and safety of our employees, contractors, and visitors are our highest priority while we strive to provide a safe work environment and to build a culture where safety is at the core.

Our Social Investment Framework

In order to maintain our commitment to our communities, we have developed a social investment framework which includes five pillars:

Key Social Investment Initiatives

We have implemented over 90 projects across our social investment pillars in Segovia, Remedios and Marmato. Some notable initiatives include:

Education and Skills Development

Aris Mining built and fully funds Gimnasio La Salada in Segovia, which provides bilingual education and technical training to local students. Around 800 students currently benefit from its programs, while more than 5,000 scholarships have been awarded since 2021. In 2027, in Marmato, we will start the construction of the community’s first bilingual school, with capacity for approximately 600 students, in three phases.

Building Local Infrastructure

We have contributed to the construction of large-scale schools, improvements to rural aqueducts, and the construction and upgrading of social infrastructure. This includes local hospitals, health centres, community centres such as the Raíces de Oro Recreational and Cultural Center in Marmato. In Segovia, we have also played an important role in the construction and upgrading of more than 25 km of local roads, representing 80% of Segovia’s urban road network. Together, these initiatives have benefited more than 40,000 residents across Segovia, Remedios and Marmato.

Supporting Local Entrepreneurship

We have supported more than 20 entrepreneurship and income-generating initiatives, creating opportunities within local communities. These include local businesses producing honey, cocoa, coffee, yogurt, beauty products, clothing, soaps and jewelry, among others.

Strengthening Local Healthcare

More than 1,300 community members have received high-quality medical care through mobile health brigades, while more than 300 pieces of medical equipment have been donated to municipal hospitals in Segovia and Marmato, helping strengthen local healthcare services.
